Both using inline 4 cylinder engine (DOHC 16 valve, injection). The company use 'Kiat Esemeka' or just 'Esemka as its car brand. Esemka is shorts for Sekolah Menenengah Kejuruan (Indonesian vocational shool). The car actually created or assembled by student of 7 vocational school in Surakarta, and the project is funded by Ministy of Education. They need 4 months to complete one car.
The vehicle priced at Rp 95 million. In 2002, the ministry has a target to manufacture 240 Esemka, as ordered by several plantation company and to be used as its executive vehicle on the field.
